Another Day in the Life of a Fox…

Our “Wild” Encounter July 31, 2009

My crazy sister has made a hobby out of rescuing lost, stray, abandoned. injured, lonely, etc. animals.

This one definitely tops the cake…. she came across a baby raccoon wandering around the pizza place she was eating dinner at last night.  Being the animal lover she is, she  coaxed it over and brought it to her dog grooming shop (aka… rescue center).  After she assured me it didn’t have rabbies we stopped by to see it before the real animal rescue people show up for it.

It was amazing to see this little guy up close.  It was extremely friendly; we think someone might have been raising it at home and then decided to let it go.

Ella got a kick out of him sniffing her ear!

Pretty cute, huh?

We joined two other families on a weekend camping trip to Presque Isle in Erie, PA last weekend.

It was the first time we have ever camped with the girls…. and let me just say they LOVED it.

They loved hanging out at the campsite….

It was a great family weekend!  Plans are already in the making for another camping adventure in August.

We headed to Aunt Tammy’s to celebrate Independence Day.

We BBQ’d, relaxed and swam… briefly since the weather was cloudy and a little cool.

Mike took it for the team and froze with the girls in the pool.  What a guy!

When it got dark we packed up all the cousins and headed to the old Hoover Company to watch fireworks.

Aunt Tam and Aunt Steph came prepared with a lot of blankets, pillows and especially sparklers.  It was a miracle that none of the kids burned themselves or each other with the darn things. 🙂

Chalk the Walk!

On the first Friday of every month the city of Canton holds a festival downtown.

This months theme was right up our ally… sidewalk chalk!

A big wet nosed dog…

I think he said it’s a biscuit?!?!?!

Here is Ella’s attempt at hula hooping…

Next months theme is the Hound Dog Days of Summer.  I suspect we will see a lot of Elivs’ walking around.

Maybe Mike and I will enjoy that one by ourselves.

Nana & Grandpa July 2, 2009

We had special visitors last weekend!

Nana & Grandpa drove down from Holland, MI to spend a few days with us.

Thanks for turning yourself into a human swing Grandpa; the girls talk about it for days after you leave.

Hopefully YOUR BACK isn’t talking about it days after you leave. 🙂

We’re always glad when you come and sad when you have to go.

We had a good time hanging out on the front porch, breaking bread and walking the park trail with you guys.

See you in a few weeks!
